Washing prior to an exterior paint / stain job: mildew, mold, dirt, chalking of aluminum, grease and grime should are always removed for proper painting material adherence and penetration.  Caulking and sealing of gaps with flexible paintable caulk or sealant.  Rotted or damaged wood should be replaced.  Damaged or leaking EIFS or synthetic stucco should be properly repaired.  Masonry should be solid.  All surfaces should be clean and dry.  Substrates should be checked with moisture meter.  Proper quality top coat and priming products to be utilized; this will determine the longevity of the job.

Proper preparation: Taping and spackling cracks, caulk gaps, sealer priming, proper covering of floors and furnishings, dust containment.
Materials: Proper material selection- Finish and priming products should be researched.
